With a coast surrounded by warm beaches, and owners of the great ichthyological richness supporting the fishing activity, Tumbes and Piura represent the ideal places for resting and practicing nautical sports. Also, for alternating these activities with tours around its impressive deserts, green valleys, reserves and parks such as the “Bosque Nacional de Tumbes” (Tumbes National Forest), the “Parque Nacional Cerros de Amotape” (Cerros de Amotape National Park), “Coto de Caza el Angolo” and the “Santuario Nacional de los Manglares” (Mangrove Swamps National Sanctuary), as well as its medicinal lakes, famous for their curing properties. Concerning their gastronomy, meals are prepared mainly from sea products. Northern people preserve its customs through its folklore such as the popular tondero and paso horses.
Tumbes, Francisco Pizarro landed in this region of old inhabitants known as “Tumpis”. This event started one of the most important chapters of our history as well as the Americas: The Conquest: since then it became an important contact point with Europe in the Colony times. Nowadays, it has strengthened commercial activities and international exchange, because of its boundaries with Ecuador.

Piura, inhabited by the “Tallán” culture, which is believed to reach the Andean area in search for places with better conditions, Piura was the first city founded in Peru by Spaniards. It is famous for its handicrafts in Catacaos whose beautiful works in filigree, ceramics, straw and wood stand out.

Geography and Location
Piura and Trujillo are border cities located in the northern coast, in one of the most arid places of this planet (Sechura desert). They have a warm climate with an average annual temperature of 26°C.
The entrance is done by air from Lima and Chiclayo (daily departures), and by land from Chiclayo and Huaquillas (Ecuador).

BEACHES - 001
MARSHES AND MANGROVE SWAMPS
4 hours

Departure to Malecón Benavides (in the Tumbes river). Then, we will go downstream in an outboard engine vessel to the delta of the river. Along the trip we will see a beautiful landscape surrounded by flora and fauna such as iguanas of different sizes and colors, birds such as the “fragata”, “piqueros”, etc. We will then continue by marshes and mangrove swamps, we will visit the “Isla del Amor” (The Love Island), “Hueso de Ballena ” and the colorful “Isla de los pájaros” (Birds Islands), with noisy and varied birds.

CHULUCANAS - PIURA

Chulucanas, southeast of Piura. Here we will find archaeological remains of the Vicus Culture. We will visit its ceramic workshop of International prestige.

BEACHES - 003
PIURA-HUACABAMBA-HUARINGAS-PIURA
4 days - 3 nights

1st Day: Transport to the airport of Piura to go to Huacabamba, arrival and transport to the hotel. Rest of the morning at leisure for walking and appreciating its astonishing beauty, varied folklore, archeological remains, traditional medicine or folk medicine.
2nd Day: Transport in small bus from Huancabamba to Huaringas Salalá, where we will have breakfast, and continue to the Huaringas (Shimbe Lake), by mule for two hours, appreciating beautiful landscapes. On the banks of the Shimbe lake, witch doctors will offer you a “flourishing bath”. Return to Salalá by mule, where you will have the possibility of “meeting” with a witch doctor (from 09:00 p.m. to 06 a.m). Return to Huancabamba. In the afternoon we will go to Sondorillo. We will visit the Mitupampa ruins .
3rd Day: Return to Huancabamba. Accommodation. After breakfast transport to the airport to go to Piura.
Important: The flight Piura / Huancabamba is done on Thursdays; returning on Sundays (15 passengers minimum).
