We will leave Huaraz by bus. Following the road to the
Llanganuco Lakes, we will ascend towards the Portachuelo
enjoying an impressive 360º view and observing
the snowy peaks of the White Mountains: Huascarán
(6.768 m), Huandoy (6.395 m), Chacra Raju (6.112m),
Chopicalqui (6.354m), Pisco (5.752), etc. then we will
descend as far as the Demanda Pass to start the trek
going inland. The following day we will arrive at Lake
69 having in front of us the sight of the impressive
ChacraRaju and Pisco.

Castle using llamas instead of donkeys as load animals.

TREK: SANTA CRUZ LLANGANUCO
4 days - 3 nights
Common trek of the White Mountains; activity that enables
us to enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
We
will leave by bus through all the Callejón de
Huaylas arriving at the Cashapampa town, where the trekking
starts. Following the Santa Cruz Ravine we will go across
the Ichic Cocha and Hatun Cocha Lakes, and before reaching
Taullipampa we will shift towards the Arhuaycocha Ravine
(where the Alpamayo Base Camp is located). From Taullipampa
the view of the Taulliraju is impressive; through the
Punta Unión Pass (4.750), we will cross to the
Huaripampa Ravine; we will descend to Colcabamba town,
and then we will ascend to Portachuelo (4.767); from
this place we will have a splendid view of the most
important snowy peaks of the White Mountains: Huascarán
(6.768 m), Huandoy (6.395 m), ChacraRaju (6.112 m),
Chopicalqui (6.354 m), Pisco (5.752m), etc. At the end
we will go across the Llanganuco Lake.
