CLIMBING: HUASCARAN
6 days - 5 nights
Huascarán (6.768 m) is a very interesting mountain
and among the highest in South America. Climbing through
the normal way requires some technical demands; it is
recommended for mountain climbers who have experience
using climbing equipment, piolet, and ropes. Mountain
climbers must be able to adapt to the altitude and cold
weather and in physical good conditions. An adequate
acclimatization is important for climbing success. The
Base Camp will be settled at 4.600 m and during the
climbing two more camps will be settled: CI (at 5.500
m) and CII (at 5.980 m).
The job of leading the group has been in charge of high-mountain
professional guides who have been carefully chosen;
they are supported by qualified assistance staff. Each
of the participants must carry his or her own personal
material and share group tasks; the participants must
be aware that they live like a team during the climbing.
